ASL in the Library

We are proud to offer our second introductory course to American Sign Language at our library. This course is possible through the volunteer work of Amber, a local who has grown up deaf.

This course will teach you the basics in ASL such as food, colour, clothing, traveling, and a lot more. This is a beneficial language that can help not only deaf or hard of hearing people in the community, but it can help children learn to not only accommodate others but also helps them with spelling, memory and overall classroom behaviour. This is a life skill that will continue to be beneficial personally as well as in the business world and the community.

Check out this post about other benefits of sign language and what they can do for you.
