Murder Mystery Fundraiser - It's that time of year again!

The wonderful volunteer cast of last year's Murder Mystery fundraiser, who will be getting together again this November for another night of laughter and intrigue.

Last year, it was the death of lighthouse keeper Willard Dobbs that brought these colourful characters together as they tried to prove their innocence to the audience - and each other - throughout the evening.

For those who have never been to a Murder Mystery Dinner, the concept is straightforward enough. A group of actors get together to put on a show while the audience looks for the truth in all the lies, and everyone enjoys an evening without having to cook. Paper and pens are handed out to each of the tables for note taking for the more serious detectives in the audience, or if you prefer, you can just sit back and enjoy the show. Participation is not necessary, but we've found even the most reluctant attendees end up speculating with the people at their table and having a great time. And at the end, the host of the evening will give the audience a chance to present their prime suspect, if they have one and if they're willing to share, before revealing what really happened.

This year's Murder Mystery will be held on Friday, November 30th at 6:30pm in Emond Hall (the gymnasium at the Hastings Highlands Centre) and while it doesn't feature a lighthouse this time, there will be another victim and another murderer to uncover in "Eternity Cruise." Tickets are now on sale at the Maynooth General Store, Harvest Moon, and of course, your public library here in Hastings Highlands, for $30.00 per ticket.

We will also be holding a Silent Auction as part of this fundraiser, and as items come in we will set them up in the library for early bidding which means even if you are unable to come to the Murder Mystery Dinner, you will have a chance to win something from our auction. Winners will be announced at the end of the night. All proceeds will go toward supporting the library, with our specific focus for this fundraiser to be announced. If you or someone you know has something that you would like to donate for our silent auction, you may drop it off at the library.

So clear your calendars and grab a ticket while they last!
