Borrow a Summer Provincial Park Pass From Hastings Highlands Public Library

Yes, you read that correctly - you can now borrow a Summer Provincial Park Pass from the library, and all you need is a valid library card! For residents of Hastings Highlands, library membership is included as part of your taxes, but for non-ratepayers, a $10 fee per card (or $20 fee per family) will apply and be charged annually. The Summer Provincial Park Pass is valid until November 30th, 2019, and allows you to enter any provincial park subject to park regulations.

To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to borrow the Summer Provincial Park Pass, there are some light restrictions that we have put in place.

  1. The maximum lending period of the Summer Provincial Park Pass is one week. An additional day will be provided for pick-up at the start of the lending period, and another additional day at the end of the lending period for drop-off, for a total of nine days.

  2. At the end of the lending period, if the Summer Provincial Park Pass has not been returned, a late fee of $18 per day will be fined to your account. This is the rate for the daily park pass.

  3. The Summer Provincial Park Pass may be borrowed multiple times by one person or family, but it may not be borrowed for two consecutive lending periods in a row. After borrowing the park pass, you will have to wait a minimum of one week (depending on availability) to borrow it again.

  4. The library cannot guarantee the availability of the Summer Provincial Park Pass and it will be loaned out on a first come, first serve basis.

If you would like to check the availability of the Summer Provincial Park Pass, we now have a designated section on our website that includes a calendar and additional borrowing information, which you can view here. Please note that in addition to reserving your time, you will be expected to sign a borrowing agreement.
