Cultural Corner Spotlight: Eliza Plumley
We've brought back our Cultural Corner display for 2022, and the first artist we're spotlighting is local textile artist Eliza Plumley whose work will be on display for the month of February at the library.
Eliza loves to collect recycled and thrifted materials to create colourful works of textile art. She was born in Bancroft, Ontario and is a graduate of Sheridan College's Textile program. Her rural upbringing has fostered a close connection to the natural environment and a fondness for the serenity of craft/handwork.
Eliza's resume includes large scale art installations, jewelery, crochet rugs, embroidered tapestries as well as mending/rescuing vintage textiles.
Can't get enough of her style? Check out her instagram @elizaplumley or visit the Old Peterson Road Gallery in Maynooth.
