Magazines: Now Available on Libby

As of January 1st, 2022, magazines are officially live and available to borrow on the Libby app with your library card. Borrow popular magazines like The New Yorker, Hello! Canada, Maclean's, Chatelaine, National Geographic, HGTV, and many, many more! Check out OverDrive's promotional video on the launch of magazines here.

Getting Started With Libby

  1. Before you get started, you will need three things: your library card number, an internet connection, and a compatible device. At this time, Kindle devices are not compatible with Libby and OverDrive in Canada.

  2. Install the Libby app on your device: Apple Play Store | Google Play Store | Windows KOBO (you may require installing Adobe Digital Editions on your computer)

  3. Add your library: You can search by postal code or type Hastings Highlands Public Library to bring up the Ontario Library Service Consortium.

  4. Add your card: Enter all digits of your library card number. If you're unsure of your library card number, contact the library via phone or email for assistance.

For more in-depth help getting started with Libby, visit here. Library staff are available to help you over the phone, email, or in person when permitted. Additional help topics are also answered here.

Finding Magazines

Once you have successfully added Libby to your device and paired it with your library card number, you can begin browsing the available titles. To find magazines, just click the magnifying glass to bring up the search feature and filter by "Magazines."

Gain instant access to 3000 popular magazine titles in French and English - no holds or wait times! Add smart tags to be notified when a new edition has been uploaded.

You can further filter your search by audience, allowing you to find magazines specifically for kids, teens, and adults. Find popular magazines like Astronomy for Kids, Minecraft World, Total Girl, National Geographic for Kids, Krash, K-Zone, and more!

Over the next little while, you may notice some changes to the collections as the lists populate to include the full collection. The appearance is also subject to change.
