The Hastings Highlands Public Library received a donation of $1000 from the Papineau Lake Community Association (PLCA) which was put towards purchasing 50 new Indigenous books in adult, teen, and children's fiction and non-fiction.

These books are now available to be borrowed, with a full list of titles attached to this post. Just call, email, or search on our online catalogue for the book you are in and place a hold.

To place a book on hold with our online catalogue, log in to our catalogue here and enter your library card and pin. (Ask us if you're unsure what these are!) Then type the name of the book you want to place on hold in the search bar and click "Place Hold." If the book is checked out, a staff member will contact you when it is available for pickup.

It’s wonderful to see new Indigenous books added to the library diverse stories are so important. Bringing those voices into readers’ hands can inspire others to share their own work. For authors looking to tell meaningful stories, online book publishing services can help make that journey more accessible and ensure unique perspectives reach a wider audience. Thanks for highlighting this!
