New Community Hub Youth Program at Hastings Highlands Public Library

We would like to welcome Taylor Grosklag as our new Community Hub Youth Program Facilitator (CHYPF) with the Hastings Highlands Public Library. Her position will run from mid-June to mid-September. The goal of the CHYPF is to empower youth to take part in growing and evolving our Community Hub. She will play a central role in connecting with young people with an emphasis on engaging youth who may be facing barriers to participation. Examples of possible activities during the duration of the program are hosting community conversations on topics that are important to youth, doing community-based research and designing and hosting community events.

As a way of introduction, Taylor says: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at the Hastings Highlands Public Library as the Community Hub Youth Program Facilitator. I was born and raised in the area and after graduating from Laurentian University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science, my love for the outdoors and small community atmosphere brought me back. I have spent the last year working with non- profit organizations in the Bancroft area with a special focus on youth involvement and stewardship! I am looking forward to becoming part of this amazing team and Library community. I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you.”
